Pinch to zoom in macOS is basically unusable

It seems to get worse at the extremes, like an inversely proportional adjustment is being made:

• Zoomed all the way in zooms out too quickly
• Zoomed all the way out zooms in too slowly

So I compensate and quickly overshoot my target

Basically unusable is a little exaggerated, hard to use may be more appropriate. It's also subjective I guess. Is there no way to edit an open feedback item?
